Is Black Stool In A 9 Year Old Child A Concern?

my 9 yr old daughter has extremely large solid stool. today, i noticed that it was almost black in color. she is not complain of any pain, and i did not see any fresh red blood. her stool are usually very large because she was a holder, but she has been going regular for the past week now.. i am more concerned with how almost black it was

if,there is only black stool and no another symptoms.so.don't worry about any medical condition to your daughter.some times,large amounts of iron or iron-rich foods, such as spinach and beets, can cause stools to temporarily turn black.this change is not cause for concern. The color of the stools will return to normal after a time.eating foods with black or dark blue food coloring can turn your child's stool black.manage diet changes for better management.
