Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Ayurvedic Treatment Effective For Gastroparesis?
A friend who stays with us has diabetes and has developed gastroparesis. He vomits a lot (loudly) and has been in and out of the hospital for re-hydration very frequently. This has been going on for more than eight months. Would Ayurveda be a possible holistic approach that might have better results than the dozens of ineffective medications that traditional doctors keep prescribing to him?Sorry, I did not see the disclaimer about the cost. I did not mean to waste your time. Have a blessed day.
Common causes if gastroparesis is uncontrolled diabetes, gastric surgery with an injury to the vagus nerve, medications such as narcotics and some antidepressants, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis or electrolyte imbalances etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. We don't know much about ayurvedic medication better to consult Ayurveda doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
