Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that
Apicoectomy is the treatment of the tooth in a retrograde manner that is through the root potion of the tooth..
It is done in certain conditions in which there is intact coronal [crown] portion of the tooth..
As far as pain in your tooth is concerned, that is painful even after repeated root canals, needs to be evaluated by an Endodontist and after proper
x ray only a proper course of treatment can be decided..
In case if your
root canal treatment is otherwise intact and there is infection present below the root tips or there is formation of any
cyst or
abscess then apicoectomy can be planned of.
If it is still doubtful then extraction of tooth followed by implant is appropriate option..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
