Is Anything Serious When The Scan Report Says That Subcentimetric Mesenteric Lymph Nodes Are Seen?

hi doctor..i have 4 year old male baby..the abdominal of his affected with pain since 4 days...Doctor suggested for Ultrasound...in ultrasound report...subcentimetric mesenteric lymph nodes are seen..is anything serious..or not as i am very much tensed,,,

Hi,

Your child having abdominal pain complaint. So it could be a gastrointestinal infection. In such infection, mesenteric lymph nodes can be enlarged as a reactive inflammation. Rule out typhoid by blood culture.

Your child can be prescribed antibiotic and Antacid course. After a few days you can repeat ultrasonography and your enlarged lymph nodes will mostly be resolved.
