Is an increase in glucose level a possible side effect of amlodipine? My wife, a kidney transplant receipient (9-9-14),with blood pressure readings 160 +or-20/90+or-10 began amlodipine 10mg once daily in addition to metoprolol. Late December 2015 it was increased to 10mg twice daily. At about that time her glucose readings went from 150-190 read daily in the morning before breakfast to 200-245 all January 2016. Her age:66, Jamaica born.

hello , wat u asked s right, there are traials which shows the hyper glycaemic effect of amlodipine if its persistantly high do consult ur doc so tat they can replace amlo with better drug.
