Is An Artificial Implant Better Than Implanting One S Own Tooth?

Hi Dr! My brother has done canal rooting 2years ago but unluckily it hasn t done carefully.now he feels sever pain.he refered to a doctor and found it infectious.Dr did some necessary remedies &prescribed metronidazole every 8h.taking 2 tablets.he told after 2days come and the best option is to extract your tooth,&doing surgery.he wants to implant my brother s own tooth after that!!!dr told because his tooth is healhy just the root has problem.my Q is:implanting a person s own tooth is possible or artificial implanting is better?PLEASE ANSWER SOON Thnx alot.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain in case if your brother's tooth is healthy and can be reimplanted it is the best possible treatment as a natural tooth is always better than an artificial one..
But there are possible pro's and cons of each treatment as the reimplanted tooth many a times gets fused to the bone and it become difficult to extract if unfortunately it is needed to extracted in future..
In case if the surgeon is convinced that the tooth can be successfully be reimplanted you should go for it..
In case if there is a little bit of doubt about it then going for artificial dental implant is the better choice of treatment..
I would suggest you to take another opinion from an Oral Surgeon and once after clinical evaluation and x ray if it gets assured then only proceed for reimplantation..
