Is Alcohol Consumption Safe While On Zinnat For Lung Infection?
Hello, my husband is taking Zinnat antibiotic for an infection in his lung (he has had a stroke and pneumonia several times) but occasionally when he's had his nightly G&T, he gets dizzy and falls into the floor. I don't think he should be drinking. Is there a reaction with the drug?

Dear ,as you must be aware that Zinnat is a broad spectrum antibiotic which means it is active against a wide variety of bacteria. It treats infections by killing or stopping the growth of the bacteria that cause them.
When he's had his nightly G&T, he gets dizzy and falls into the floor that means , it is not suitable to his health . it causes hindrance in recovery process .
It is better not to take any alcohol while taking medication, it may interact together and impact the medications effectiveness.
Your health should be kept on top priority .
He should be given other healthy drinks like ginger ale , lemon juice with salt and pepper .
Socialising ,seeing favourite program on TV will help sublimate habits .
Deep breathing and meditation will help strengthen will power
Take your doctor's advice in this matter .
