Is Alcohol Consumption Harmful While On Cold Medications?

I have a common cold and I have been taking the life brand extra-strength cold medication daytime relief so I don t feel gross during the day. However tomorrow night I am to attend a party where there is alcohol. I have read that acetaminophen(500mg) stays in your body for about 6 hours, dextromethorphan(15mg) stays in your body for a 6 hour half-life and the same for pseudoephedrine(30mg). Will I be safe enough to drink alcohol without damaging my liver a ton?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

It is not generally recommended to drink alcohol while having cold or flu since it may slow down recovery so it is not advisable to have it with medications as well. here are no some serious side effects but alcohol may reduce efficiency of medications and prolong the disease.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
