Is Air Travel Advised After Suffering A Brain Bleed?

Going to travel to usa in 3 months. One of the people we are travelling with is in hospital after suffering a brain bleed. She has been in hospital for 6 weeks and will need rehabilitation and hopefully will be able to go on organised trip. If she should be well enough to travel will it be safe for her to fly for such a long flight and how will the pressure in the plane effect her.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I do not see any issue in travelling in 3 months time. Usually patients with stroke are advised not to travel for 2 to 3 weeks.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
