Is Acute Pain Above The Navel A Symptom Of An Abdominal Muscle Pull?

Hello, I am having fairly acute pain above my belly button. It feels muscular to me. It hurts worse when I contract my muscles. To make the pain go away i need to completely relax my abdominal muscles. Should i see a doctor or do you thin it is a muscle pull?

Hi,

There can be various reasons apart from a muscle pull as intestine inflammation, early appendicitis or other intraabdominal issues which can present in a similar way.

Can see after intake of analgesic for a period of 12-24 hours, if the pain persists later, should consult your PCP.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
