Is Absence Of Periods A Consequence Of Pregnancy?

I had intercourse on the 7th day of my menstrual cycle and my partner used it efficiently. Today is the 29th day of my cycle and still I have not got my periods. My period generally occurs on the 30 th day of the cycle. Is there anything to worry about as I dont want to get pregnant now. Regards.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You should get your urine pregnancy test as well as ultrasound pelvis if menstruation doesn't occur on time as the time interval at the time of intercourse can cause pregnancy if it was 7 days after end of last periods. If you had intercourse one day after the end of last periods, then pregnancy becomes less likely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a healthy life ahead.

Regards,
