Is Ablation Of Atrial Fibrillation Advisable For An Elderly Person?

my husband has been having ongoing afib for years. medicines this last attack has not been successful, and the doctor said his next step would be ablation. we have an appointment april 8 with a doctor who does this, but he has started coughing at night and a visit to our primary doctor gave us a diagnosis of fluid on the lungs which he suspected was from the afib. he has no energy and sleeps a lot. he says it s almost like he just passes out. I cannot get a sooner appointment for the ablation. it has already been moved up once. I am almost concerned that he may not make it to the 8th. he is 81 and otherwise no problems.
