Is A Squishy, Fluid Filled Bubble Behind The Jaw A Cause For Concern?
I have a bubble behind my jaw that seems to be fluid filled. I'm not sure if it can wait until morning or if i should go to the e.r. I don't know what it is... It started to form after a pretzel poked my gums the other night where a tooth used to be. It was sore but now feels like a balloon to touch and squishy.
As per your complain as you explained that a pretzel poked your gums after which you got a fluid filled bump, you need not to worry about it as it can be due to inflammation in the gums due to injury leading to the formation of inflammatory exudate which is collected below the mucousa causing formation of a bump..
It can also be due to infection in the gums due to food impaction leading to a pus filled blister..
In both the cases you need not to worry, in first case it will heal by itself as the inflammation will subside but in case of infection you need to get the area cleaned by the dentist and take antibiotics for relieving the infection..
Hope this information helps..
