Is A Small Bruise-like Spot Under The Breastbone A Cause For Concern?

my granddaughter was visiting me this morning and again asked about a spot the size of a fingertip she has right below her breastbone/ribcage area. It looks like a small bruise but she says it has been there for quite a while. Is this something to be concerned about
