Is A Recurring Black Eye From A Broken Nose Normal?
Hi a friend had his nose broken on Christmas Eve, his nose is crooked and he had two black eyes which settled within a week. He has been to see his gp and had blood tests done. Today his black eye has returned for no apparent reason. Should we be worried?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have black eye from a broken nose normal. Well black eye is the appearance of bruising around the eyes. This may occur when the small blood vessels (capillaries) beneath the skin have broken and blood has leaked into the surrounding tissue, creating discolorations. It one of the prominent symptoms in case of broken nose. For now apply cold compresses for 48 hours and then apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan along with MRI . Doctor may drain the hematoma , prescribe anticoagulant or may fix the fracture if there is any.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
