Is A Purple Bruise Behind The Upper Calf A Symptom Of DVT?

Hello, Due to a plane delay I had a 13 hour travel day where I was mostly confined to a seat. I now have a large 3 in x 3in purple bruise on the back of my upper calf. I believe this was not the result of a trauma but due to sitting. I also have a head ache I can t get rid of. Could this be DVT? Or just a surface bruise that I shouldn t be concerned about? Thank you

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of simple skin bruise is more likely in your case.
But since you are having prolonged flight journey in sitting position, risk of DVT (deep venous thrombosis) is there.
So better to get done bilateral lower limb venous doppler to rule out DVT.
If doppler report is normal then no need to worry for DVT.
It is simple skin bruise only.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
