I have a question regarding STDs. My current BF said he thinks he may have gotten something from me, but we both have been checked last summer and never have had any former STDs. He said it looked like a pimple, but was still concerned it may be something more. We first slept together on Jan. 14th and he noticed this on Jan. 22nd. I have not had any symptoms of anything. I do have an appointment to be checked, but is this something we should be really concerned about? Or could it be just that- a pimple?
I understand your concern and will do my best to answer your question.
You are to be congratulated on getting in, getting checked and making sure everything is ok. From what you are describing it very well could just be a pimple or an ingrown hair. Herpes usually comes in clusters and looks more like blisters filled with clear fluid and clears up on its own in a week or two. Let your provider know - they can do a blood test to tell for sure if you have ever been exposed to type II (genital) herpes. People CAN get herpes and spread it without having symptoms, but, even if so, it very rarely has any long term health or pregnancy related consequences. Good luck and I hope this helped
