Is A Pacemaker Surgery Advisable At An Elderly Age?

my dad just turned 93 and I am told his pacemaker has 6 mos battery life left. I am worried about the surgery and him being in a hospital. when he is away from home he gets disoriented but I m worried that being put under anesthetic might kill him. I haven t talked to his regular dr yet but will soon. Just wondering for now. Rita
