Is A Mild Chest Pain With Irregular Heartbeats A Cause For Concern?

I think I may have had a mild heart attack. I was having mild pain in my chest with pressure it felt like someone was squeezing my chest and I was having pain in my upper back and neck and my pulse was irregular and fast. it lasted for about 5 min then went away. Should I be worried? I always have irregular heartbeats but never associated with the pain in my chest

Hello,
Thankyou for asking your question at health care magic.

Your symptoms are suggestive of anginal pain (Block in the areteries supplying blood to heart and temperorly cutting of blood supply)

I want to know more about your symptoms like----When did it start?
-Aggrevating/relieving factors for pain
-radiation of pain
Your age and gender
-family history of cardiac problems
-Hostory of hypertension, diabetes Mellitus, hypercholeatrolemia.
-Similar symptoms in past.

I suggest you should immediately go to the nearest emergency room. You need to get an ECG and further investigations like stress test/angiogram according to ECG results. Anginal pain needs medical attention as it can lead to complications like myocardial infarction and arrhythmias(irregular electrical activity of heart resulting in ineffective pumping of blood)
Meanwhile if available take 2 aspirin 75 mg tablets (if not allergic )

Hope I was able to answer your question
Please feel free to address any more concerns
Regards,
Dr.Lekshmi
