Is A Lump On The Head From An Old Fall Dangerous?

I had a fall as a child had obviously cracked my skull since there is an indention on my forehead right at the hair line. Anyway in the past month, I now have a hard lump just to right of it. It wasn t there before. My hairdresser and esthetician noticed it over the weekend and asked me about it. What is going on? I am 64 years old. No new incidents.

So far as you do not have any fresh neurological symptoms, there is no reason to worry. However, if the swelling increases or in case of any other symptoms like a chronic headache, or weakness in a particular area, then you might have to go for an MRI of brain and skull to rule out any other organic pathology which might not be related to your old history of fall.
