Is A Heterogeneously Enhancing Mass Lesion In The Distal Ascending Colon Compromising The Colonic Lumen A Serious Concern?
FDG avid (SUV max –35.20) heterogeneously enhancing mass lesion is seen in the distal ascending colon with severe compromise of the colonic lumen, however contrast is seen to past through it. This mass measures ~ 5.1 x 4.0 x 4.2 cm in anteroposterior, transverse and craniocaudal dimension respectively. Mild paracolic fat stranding is seen. Few non-FDG avid perilesional subcentimeteric lymph nodes are seen. what does the above observation mean?
The PET report has shown that possibility of colon malignancy. But don't worry. Consult your surgical Gastroenterologist, he will examine and do colonoscopy then treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
