Is A Cervix Length Of 18mm At 18th Week Of Pregnancy A Concern?

I am at 18 weeks now and doctor found that my cervix length is 18mm. She gave me Utrogestan that I need to insert via vagina until at least at 34 weeks. She suggested bedrest. Not that I don t want to (that I am working), I need to arrange the work handover properly first before leaving. I planned to do this at 24 weeks. Do you thinks it is too late for me to completely be bed rest at that stage of pregnancy? My doctor will see me again in 2 weeks time to check if there is any changes on the cervix length. I am just an admin officer, where my work is basically just sitting in front of computer most of the days, without major movement or going around. Does this helps if I am not bed rest yet now? Thank you.

Hi, I think you should go for a complete bed rest and also a prophylactic cervical encerclage. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. In this cervix will be stitched so that there is no chance of cervical incompetence and premature delivery.
