Is A Bump At The Site Of Injury On The Head A Concern?

I had a hard fall on the ice today and hit my head right at the base of my skull. Other than hurting at the site and a small bump I don t have any other symptoms. No nausea, dizziness, confusion. It s been about seven hours. Should I look out for any other symptoms? Should I go to the ER?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

From your symptoms, you probably don't need to go to the ER. However please watch out for signs of vomiting/dizziness. Also take Tylenol 500mg twice daily for 3 days to relieve the inflammation and pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Raunak Saha
