General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it may be given to prevent fracture of spine. Injection vacosteo is primarily used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women to reduce the risk of fracture of the spine. However the stomach acidity issues pertaining to scleroderma can be managed by giving antacids during course of treatment with vacosteo.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
