General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome and thanks for the consult. I appreciate your concerns. I have reviewed your query about drug success rate of Ziconotide in treatment of backache.

Ziconotide is a pain killer, as other drugs like Fentanyl, Ibuprofen and Tramadol etc. The success rate depends on the cause of backache. It is just a painkiller (a symptomatic relief for pain) not a complete cure of the issue. So, success will be more sure, if we treat the underlying cause of backache. It can be an issue with intervertebral disc, vertebrae itself, muscles of back or nerve involvement. Management of each cause differs and success rate differs patient to patient based on many factors including comorbid conditions, age and overall health. As a painkiller drug, yes Ziconotide is a potent drug and good to use for backache.

Hope it helps. Ask for more if you have doubts or questions. My direct and quick link is: tinyurl.com/drhanifmd
