Hi My baby is 8month old and he is suffering from UTI . Dr. Prescribed us to give him 2.5ml of zanocin 100mg for 12days . Is it safe to give him this medicine? As my pharmacist told me that it s a strong medicine and it should not be given to a 8 month old baby. I am confused now. Please help.
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern. In your case your pediatrician must be suspecting bacterial infection for which zanocin(ofloxacin) is prescribed. If the infection is bacterial as suspected by your pediatrician zanocin (ofloxacin )is the right treatment. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
