Is ZN 20 Safe For Curing Loose Motion?

Hello, My baby is 10 months old, she is haveing loose since 2 days and my doctor has given Pro-wel probiotic-Prebiotic suspense but loose motion still continues, now my doctor has given ZN 20 with Prowe probiotic - prebiotic suspense. My query is what is ZN 20 and is good for my baby.

Brief answer:ZN 20 is a preparation containing 20 mg Zinc sulphate which is an useful mineral and electrolyte for human.Definitely ,this is a very good drug for the treatment acute watery diarrhea.

Detailed answer: I see similar cases in my hospital.In the first meeting,I often advise as follows:
>Breast feed frequently
>Give oral rehydration solution (ORS) after each loose motion
>Zinc tablet 20 mg once daily for ten days

Anyway,Zinc therapy reduces frequent diarrheal attack in children,boosts up immune system.

Please stay alert for any signs of dehydration(irritability,sunken eyes,depressed fontanelle,thirst etc) and any general danger signs like convulsion,excessive vomiting,blood in stool.If any sign is seen ,please contact with your local doctor.
