Is Viagra Safe To Be Taken When Having History Of Invasive Heart Surgery?

I had minimally invasive heart surgery 13 years ago for mitral valve repair. I m now 65 and want to know if it s safe to take viagra, cialis, or other ED meds. I currently take Cozaar and Adalat for blood pressure (normally 125/65 with meds), and baby aspirin.

Hi.
Yes, it can be dangerous if you take Viagra or Cialis while on BP lowering medications.

Viagra (Sildenafil) or Cialis (Tadalafil) can cause a severe fall in blood pressure if taken along with Adalat (Nifedipine) resulting in dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, flushing, headache, or an increased heart beat.

Since you are 65 years of age, a drastic fall in BP and an increased heart beats can have an adverse impact on your heart, hence avoid taking Viagra.

Consult your treating doctor and request for an alternate effective but a safer medication for your ED other than Viagra or Cialis.

Hope this will solve your problem.
