Is Strattera Advisable For Emotional Outbursts In A Child?

My child has been assessed for ADHD and found not to have it, however he does show problems with impulse control. He is 11 years old, with 47, xxy. Our psychiatrist is considering putting him on Strattera to help with his outbursts, but I am afraid of the side effects. He already has insomnia, anxiety and depression (for which he takes melatonin and Lexapro). He is also on Omnitrope for short stature. His verbally reactive behaviors are causing him trouble in school and with friends. What do you think?

Hello

It is a CNS stimulant and indicated for ADHD. Since he doesnot have ADHD I will not suggest it.

For impulse control, he can go for meditation classes.
