Is Sangobion The Right Medication To Increase Hemoglobin Levels?
Hi Doctor, I am female 47kg in weight and have a low HB of 9.3 a few days ago, then after 2 days checked again the HB is about 10.something. I took sangobion once a day every after breakfast. I am a bit underweight but its also hard for me to gain weight, is this an effect of being anemic? How long should I take Sangobion? wanted to just ensure I ate proper foods for me to take vitamins once a day. If my HB become normal is it ok to continue Sabgobion? If so til when? Thank you.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Sangobion contains iron so I assume you are having iron deficiency, that is anemia. Though your body iron will be normal within 5 to 7 days, you must continue taking medicine for 1 month to replenish the lost iron stores. More important than iron replacement is to find the cause of anemia and treating that.
Healthy diet is also very important and you should continue with that. Also few people may not tolerate oral iron and may need parentral doses.
Let me know if this was helpful and do ask if you have any further questions.
Regards, Dr. Akash Kumar
