Is SIMROSE 500 And SIMROSE Oil Are Same Medicine And Its Side Effects?

Thanks. A lady doctor during general check up of me, had prescribed SIMROSE Oil as one of the medicines for me. However, the the medicine supplied by myn chemist reads as SIMROSE 500. I would like to know whether both the medicines are one & the same and will there be any side effect if I take this med for a month or so. Thanks.

Hi,

Simrose 500 is a dietary supplement for women health which contains Evening Primrose oil (EPO) 500mg. Evening Primrose oil us a rich source of Omega-6 essential fatty acids and gamma-linoleic acid which are converted in the body to form prostaglandins, a hormone like substance. It is also beneficial in lowering blood cholesterol, reducing blood pressure, decreasing anxiety and maintaining healthy skin and hair.

Side effects of Simrose 500 are nausea, vomiting, headache, GIT upset, soft stools, indigestion, allergic reactions like rashes, itching, swelling of lips, tongue or throat, breathing difficulties, dizziness etc. Simrose 500 and Simrose oil are the same medications. Simrose is likely safe for most people when taken by mouth in doses up to 6 grams daily for few months.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
