Is Roliflo-OD2 An Antibiotic?

Hi, I am from Bangalore. My 7 yera old son was diagnosed with urine reflux and presecribed a dosage of Roliflo-OD2, which is to be monitored weekly to arrive at right doage over a period of 8 weeks. I have been informed this is a long term treatment and could be for 1-2 years. His ultrasound showed dilation of urinary bladder, ureter. I would like to know if this medicine is an antibiotic? if long term use of this medicine will reuslt in any side effects and if my son will be free of any problems in future.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM!

No, Roliflo is not an antibiotic. It consists of Tamsulosin and Tolterodine.

It is useful in conditions such as Reflux, Eneuresis and Prostate hypertrophy.

It may cause short term side effects like Headache, Drowsiness, Palpitation, Tachycardia, Dry mouth, Blurred vision, Hypotension, Constipation.

Hope this information is helpful. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.

With regards,
Dr. Sridhar
