Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Plan B Recommended In Spite Of Being On Nexplanon After Having Unsafe Sex?
I got the Nexplanon implant in my arm the day after my period (I got it Friday December 4th when my period started the 3rd.) which means I ve had the implant for 3 days. My partner and i had unprotected sex today, and he ejaculated inside of me. Should I get the plan B pill or are my chances of pregnancy low, given the circumstance and timing?
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
As a physician I would like to tell you that there is no need to take Plan B tablet, as you had sex in first half of cycle near your periods with absolutely no chances of ovulation and not leading to pregnancy. Thus I would suggest that you continue using Nexplanon and use condoms as added measures of contraception as well as protection from STDs.
Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
