It does not have any specific role in conception. It may help in stimulating release of ova but if there is some serious problem then it may not help that much. Since you have irregular periods, you should consult an infertility specialist who will assess your status and investigate by ultrasound of your ovaries and uterus system to get more details about your infertility problem. A normal ovulation is a must for conception, similarly normal semen analysis is equally important. So, get your husband s semen analysis done. Once both the things are normal you can try by having unprotected sex around ovulation day (Mid-cycle day) of your menstrual cycle. Hope the suggestions given would help you to conceive.
