have had a chronic cough/ choking with multiple episodes per day that induces profuse post nasal drainage while awake or asleep. have had multiple workups and dx d w/ reflux, chronic sinusitis, allergies and very, very mild asthma. placed on baclofen, neurontin and cymbalta along w/ robinul prn. none of this really helped. ending up seeing a surgeon who diagnosed me w/ bile reflux up to the level of the vocal cords. he repaired a large hiatal hernia, did a nissen along w/ a gastric imbrication. things have been much better since then. coughing reduced by 85%. surgery was done about 3 mo ago. about a wk ago got thrush not related to steroid or antibiotic use. i am not diabetic. i have had thrush multiple times in the past few years, never vaginal yeast. and this time diflucan is not doing the job. my regular md has me seeing a infectious disease specialist in about 2wks. mouth and tongue hurting and throat is sore along w/ hoarse voice. any ideas
