Is Montair 5 Advisable For Severe Cough In An Elderly Person?

We are giving Montair 5 to my mother who is suffering from chronic cough for last one week. The doctor had actually prescribed Telecast but medical shop gave Montair 5 saying that its contents are the same. We checked with doctor on the phone who confirmed the medicine. It is only now that someone told us that Montair 5 is pediatric and that we should have given Montair lc. Is it correct? Have we been cheated by the shop?
