Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello doctor i am using Mometasone cream on my face.but i have read in one article that it should not be used on face, groin etc.can you help me in this as i have black spot on my face it becomes bigger and bigger day by day .my doctor prescribe me this but she didnt say why i have to use this
Mometasone cream is a glucocorticosteroid which is basically prescribed to reduce the local inflammatory process where it is to be applied. It is to be used on face with caution following the exact duration of course and method as prescribed by the doctor. You have not mentioned why doctor prescribed you this medicine. If it is to reduce dark spots then as effective as it may seem in reducing dark spots...one has to weigh the pros and cons of using it in each particular case which can be better done by a consulting dermatologist.
I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
