Is Midrin Better Than Fiorinal For Treatment Of Migraine?
I have suffered with migraine for over 40 years. Just had a sinus surgery for a mycetoma and my ent dr. said that I needed to see my family dr for headaches. I do take relpax currently and clean the rest of the headache up with fiorinal when needed. My question is, would midrin be a better alternative to the fiorinal. I believe I had that prescribed years ago and never had any issues with it.
Both Midrin and Fiorinal are combination medicines. While Midrin contains isometheptene mucate, dichloralphenazone and acetaminophen Fiorinal is a combination of a barbiturate, acetaminophen, and caffeine. If I had a choice,I'd suggest Fiorinal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
All the best.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
