Is Methylprednisolone Advisable For Runny Nose?

I had the makings of a cold. Runny nose, no sore throat,no pain. Yesterday afternoon, my doctor examined my throat and nostrils. He then gave me a prescription for Methylpredisolone tablets 4 mg. The dosage was 21 tablets. 6 the first day, decreasing 1 tablet per day until 1 tablet on the sixth day. I started taking the tablets before bedtime yesterday. My nose isn t running very much. Was this the correct prescription for this condition?

Hi,

Runny nose may be due to certain reasons. most common among them is allergies to various dust, etc. I would like to advise you tablet Levo Cetrizine or tablet Chlorpheniramine for it. Though methylprednisolone can be use but it's better to avoid it. so stop taking it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
