Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is not contagious but can be transmitted from blood to blood contact. It can be diagnosed and treated by broad spectrum antibiotic.

It is not STD in much of information regarding signs and symptoms. It is tick born and is transmitted by tick bite which are infected black legged so it can be prevented by improved hygiene and sanitation.

Boricela borgioli bacteria is causative organism and it is only limited to information. So, better to keep distance and avoid it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
