Is Lotrimin Safe For Red And Inflamed Scrotum?

My scrotum is red and has inflammation. Occasionally when I wake up I noticed that I have scratches on my scrotum and have awoke scratching myself uncontrollably. I have purchased both monistat and Lotrimin. The monistat helped a lot the first night with my itching and some of the redness went away. Then it just stopped improving. I am now using Lotrimin but am just starting. Any suggestions. This has been an ongoing issue for four years and it is starting to make me uncomfortable when I am intimate.

Chronic Scrotal -Jock's itch with Fungal dermatitis.
Treatment-
Consult dermatologist for Second opinion on this suggestions-
Keep the private parts disinfected with dettol / lysol diluted solution sponging 2 times a day.
Keep the groin and scrotal areas dry as far as possible.
Apply cream with light smears x 2 times a day.
Tab Lamisil(terbenafine) 250 mg once a day x 4-6 weeks may be needed.
Recurrence could be avoided with washing clothes with Lysol once in a week.
