Is Klonopin A Good Alternative Of Vimpat?

I had open brain surgery a little over a year ago. I have been taking something called vimpat 50mg twice daily as an abti convulsant. I understand that Klonopin is an anticonvulsant. I have discovered the klonopin is much less expensive...what is your opinion could I be taking Klonopin?

Drugs for epilepsy are taken for long time the cost of the drug is one factor among other for selecting a drug. What I can understand there is lot of drugs that can be used for epilepsy, we select one for reasons ,however there is always a chance for change in the drug, personally I think Klonopinis not a very good choice for long use but if the cost of the Vimpat is a matter for you. I would advise you should discuss this with your treating doctor, there are a lot of other cheaper drugs available which can be used. But this should always be done with proper consultation. So talk to your doctor ,express your concern, he would surely find out a solution accordingly.
