Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, nitrates usually cause venodilation and are often used to relieve angina as burden on heart is decreased as well as more time for heart to get it's oxygen etc. However not a recommended treatment for those who are not heart patients. Also that the mechanism you are mentioning is better achieved with sildenafil but should be used after doctors review.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
