Hello Doctor My mother is suffering from diabetes for last 10 years, now her age is 44. With diabetes she also have high BP and heart problem. She used a lot of drugs but the result is not satisfactory. Last time doctor prescribe insulin but someone told us that if you gave her insulin than no other drug will affect except insulin. Welcome to HCM
I have read and understood your query
Hope it may help
I am happy that you have reached professionals instead of just believing what you heard from people around.
Right now important is to control the sugar levels of your mother instead of worrying about shifting her to insulin as high levels are damaging every organ of her body. She is not old and higher the level of sugar, higher are the risks of organ damage. And longer the uncontrolled sugar, greater are the risks.Patients are shifted to insulin only when their blood sugar levels are not being controlled with oral hypoglycemics tablets.Though if she strictly follows her insulin administration, have a diet check and regularly exercises, doctor may shift her back to oral drugs.Right now i would suggest you to do as directed by the physician.
I will be happy to know if it was helpful. You can approach us anytime with another query
