Is Impressa Advisable To Stop Bladder Leakage?

I am experiencing bladder leakage. I am 73 years old and have been taking Detrol for several years, but now, leakage is occurring very frequently. I also do kegal exercises regularly. I have seen advertisements for Impressa to stop bladder leaks. Is this an effective product? Or do you recommend a different course of action?

Hello ,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.com and thanks for sharing your concern with us .
Urinary incontinence is of different kinds like :stress continence , urge continence , mixed type . For a proper treatment strategy it's important to first diagnose the exact type of continence from which you are suffering . If it's stress urgency /stress urinary incontinence then surely impressa can help you but for urge incontinence , impressa will not work . And I think that you have urge incontinence keeping in mind your previous treatment with Detrol.
First step in treatment of urinary incontinence is to follow lifestyle changes : 1.reducing caffeine , tea , cola , alcohol intake
2.maintaining a healthy weight
3.performing pelvic floor exercises
4. altering water content which you ingest as too much water or too less as well can exaggerate the condition.
As far as medicines are concerned , duloxetine is considered best for stress incontinence . Oxybutynin , mirabegron are considered for urge continence . Oxybutynin skin patch are available which can be applied twice a week .
As you were on Detrol in past so now you can be put on mirabegron if your healthcare providers does not find any contraindication .
So I would suggest you to consult with your Healthcare providers and get it diagnosed that which kind of incontinence you are having which will help in making a treatment strategy for you .
Best Regards ,
