Is HIV Transmission Possible Through Protected Sex?

Do i have hiv? I have engaged in a protected sex january 15. A month after i notice that i am having diarrhea. Next thing i was having some flu like symptoms sore throat, dry cough, runny nose but without fever. I have a rash also but not the measles type but folliculitis at my back. I was afraid it may be eosinophilc folliculitis. No rash in any other parts in my body. I have no night sweets also.

Hello,

With protected sex, the chance of getting HIV infection is 0%. The symptoms you had following the sex might be viral infection.

Usually, majority of viral infections are self-limited and resolve in due course of time. Don’t worry about it. For the rash occurred on the back, you may consult general physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Siddartha
