Is Galvus Safe For Diabetic Patients?

Sir, my father is having diabeties and taking Galvus Met 50/500 daily twice. In the past he has underwent a surgery to put stent and had operated (removed) left kidney. Is consuming galvus met safe. If not, what could be the other medicine. Regards, Chandan

I welcome you on virtual clinic and can understand your concerns.

This is a good drug. But we have to see your Kidney function tests and see if there is some compromised kidney functions and high creatinine levels, we may need to change the dose or change the drug regimen. You already had a kidney surgery, and you have a solitary kidney.

So I refer you to your treating physician for the kidney and liver function tests and fix the dosage accordingly. Let me know if you have further queries.
