Is Formaldehyde Safe For Recurrent UTIs?

Hi I am about to start taking the pills my Dr prescribed called methenamine md to prevent recurring UTIs. I am a bit disturbed by the fact that formaldehdye will be in my urinary system. Please let me know your views on this. many thanks adrianne YYYY@YYYY

Hi Adrianne,

The best preventive measure for recurrent UTI is to drink as much quantity of water as you can during 24 hours and maintain proper hygiene.
For treatment Cotrimoxazole 160/800 mg - 12 hourly for 1-2 weeks, along with frequent water consumption.
