Is Flavedon Safe To Be Taken While On Nikoran And MR 35?

I had heart attack one year back. An open heart surgery was suggested. I didn t go for it. Now I am on medical management. Nikoran 5mg., Ranozex 500 mg. (both twice a day) eere prescribed. Four months back an additional drug… T. Flavedon MR 35 was prescribed. Is it necessary to take this drug also? I am aged 82. C R PRASAD from India.

Hello,

If you have not undergone surgery then it means your heart is not getting adequate blood supply and it it starved. This medicine preserves heart energy balance and long-term treatment with Trimetazidine significantly improves patients' clinical condition (reducing the number of angina attacks and supplementary nitroglycerin intake), increases exercise tolerance, improves the results of exercise tests, and restores patients' quality of life. You should have and significant side effects are less.
