Is Fioricet Advisable For Persistent Headaches?

I ve been on Fioricet 3x a day since 1991 for my headaches and it has always worked well. I am 66 yrs old and my doctor took me off it about 3 months ago and my headaches are very bad almost everyday. I have tried numerous OTC meds and nothing works as well, should I insist that he put me back on the Fioricet?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are not having any relief with the other medications then you may need to speak to your doctor.

Even if he or she is not comfortable with continuing the extended course of fioricet, may be able to give you an alternative that works for you.
If there are no other effective meds, then you may be given the fioricet.

I hope this helps
